Commercial Pilot - Rotorcraft Helicopter
A Commercial Pilot certificate is required for any person who desires to get paid to fly a helicopter. Before you qualify for the commercial certificate, you must first be a rated pilot at at least the private level. The estimates below will help give you an idea of what it will take for a private pilot to become a commercial helicopter pilot, but we suggest you call or visit us and speak to a flight instructor who can address your questions personally.

According to the Federal Aviation Regulations "a person who applies for a commercial pilot certificate with a
rotorcraft category and helicopter class rating must log at least 150 hours
of flight time as a pilot." That flight time must include:
