
Instructor Ratings CFI (Flight Instructor) and CFII (Instrument Flight Instructor)
Many job require a minimum of 1500 hours of flight time before you may be considered for employment. Getting your CFI and CFII ratings will help you get a job as a flight instructor to build those needed flight hours. Not only does this teach you the finer points of flying but you also become a near encyclopedia of meteorology, aerodynamics, aerospace physiology and aviation regulations.




Eligibility Requirements​​ - CFI

Currently have at least a Helicopter Comercial Pilot License

Hold at least a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate (to receive compensation)

Acquire at least 3 hours of helicopter instruction and any necessary as to become proficient enough to pass the FAA flight examination

Acquire at least 15 hours as PIC (Pilot in Command) in a helicopter

Pass FAA written test (knowledge exam) and checkride (practical test)
